New Mexico SBIR Matching Grant - Program Year 2027

Ends on

New Mexico SBIR/STTR Matching Grant

Federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants are competitive federal grants that support small businesses engaged in research and development (R&D) with potential for commercialization. SBIR grants cover costs associated with R&D, but do not cover expenses related to business development. Ineligible costs under an SBIR grant include marketing and salaries for employees related to business operations.

The New Mexico SBIR/STTR Matching Grant provides recipients additional resources to commercialize the technology developed with federal funding. This program leverages the Federal funding for SBIR/STTR recipients, whose technologies have been vetted by national experts and have been awarded for proof-of-concept and R&D activities. State-level matching programs nationwide are found to lead to follow-on funding, stimulate business growth and expansion, generate wealth, and increase tax revenue and commercial viability of the receiving firms.

Only companies headquartered in New Mexico are eligible for this award.
